Words fail me… If I could take readers by the hand to the Feel Better Reflexology and Massage Center at 2nd and Spring Garden, one massage would far outweigh these 832 words.

You could, if you wanted to, travel to Center City for a massage. You'd pay top dollar, spend money on parking, then lose any relaxation you gained in the hassle of getting home.
You could, but why would you want to-when we have an extraordinary massage center right here in Northern Liberties? The Feel Better Reflexology Center is extraordinary on several levels. The treatments are as skilled and varied as those offered elsewhere (if not much better). Their staff is wonderfully caring, and personal. Their prices are completely reasonable. And the treatments are given within a most relaxing context.
Feel Better makes its unassuming home on the corner of 2nd and Spring Garden Streets, one flight up and around the comer from Penn Herb. Upon entering-with a bad back, sore feet, or just general fatigue-one soon feels that all will be well.
What is Reflexology?
What is reflexology, you ask? It's a system of foot manipulation and massage, based on the tried and true knowledge that each area of the foot corresponds to some part of the body. Work on that spot, and the body benefits.
Swedish, Shiatsu and Deep Tissue, Too
The various treatments offered at Feel Better are Swedish massage, deep tissue, hot stone massage therapy, foot reflexology and raindrop Aromatherapy. The sessions range in price from only $25 to $175, depending upon length and type. But the comparative cost, (and amazing in Northern Liberties!) is below market value.
Pieces of Gold
"For me, it is about intuition now," said Jill. “When I work on a person, my hands search for those knots…my fingers just know, it's like finding pieces of gold. I know when I find them, that's where the tension is.”
Reasonable Healing
Feel Better offers reasonable combination packages, designed to suit the particular person. Swedish massage combined with a half-hour of reflexology might be just the ticket. A short neck and shoulder massage is offered for the busy businessperson, parent or passerby.

But some things you’ve got to do for yourself. So let me tell you about this hidden treasure, deep (actually high…it’s right above Penn Herb) in Northern Liberties. A fragrant aroma floats up from the herb store below, combining with Feel Better’s soothing lotions; an atmosphere designed for pleasure.
....Jill,trained at the International Institute of Reflexology, believes passionately in her work. “We respect boundaries. We do not try to replace doctors,” said Jill, “but massage and reflexology are so healing. People really can incorporate this healing into their everyday lives.“Our center is about quality and caring.” Said Jeff. “We treat the individual person.”
Swedish, Shiatsu and Reflexology Massage
Pampered, healthy, and happy is the general idea here – but not just for the rich. For everyone.“We recognized that the everyday person wasn’t doing massage because they couldn’t afford the prices. We wanted to have a place where massages are not just for the affluent.” Said Jeff. “We believe in the benefits of massage.” Said Jill, a willowy gently smiling presence.
The staff is the secret ingredient of this hidden treasure. Like the massage equivalent of a candy store, each therapist has an individual take on perfection, making one seem the ideal choice until you experience the next.
How does reflexology work?
“Each area of the foot corresponds to an area in the body.” Explained Jill.“I am simplifying, but imagine the spot reflexing back to nerves in the organs and muscles. The three key words are: stimulate, improve, heal.” Jill affirmed in her soft voice. “Reflexology stimulates your system so the body can heal itself and improve. Part of the pleasure,” said Jill, “becomes maintaining your body’s health so that you function to your highest potential.
”The Feel Better Reflexology Center functions at its peak potential, it seems. The staff does corporate lunch hours and parties, and house calls.“We went to an accountant during tax season, and did his whole staff.” said Jeff. “That was awesome.”Jeff’s devotion to reflexology stems from his own health improving radically with repeated sessions.
“I know it’s unbelievable” he said. No matter what pain you have when you walk in,” said Jeff, “When you receive a session you will feel better when you walk out.”
